Email List Building | Finding Love | One Person Business | Digital Decluter | E-book distribution
Episode 1 of a series where I share interesting what I learnt from the internet during my leisure time.
Email list Building — Distribution
Idea
Distribute a free resource using notion in exchange for an email to help you build a list of people with similar interests as you and you can eventually start a newsletter.
Where I learnt this
Youtube video from Dan Koe and Ali Abdaal.
- Both videos mentioned a free resource
- Both free resources were distributed using notion
- In both cases I had to put in my email address before I could access the notion page
- In Ali Abdals case I had to fill a short form about my interests before I proceeded
- In both cases the resource was created for their own personal use to address a personal issue in their life and they eventually decided to share the information
- Both had different levels of complexity — Ali’s notion page was simpler but Dan’s page came with indepth instructions and information how to make the most of the template (it’s amazing that is even available for free).

Finding love - Things that could be sabotaging your chances at finding love
Ideas
- Thinking you have to achieve a milestone like losing weight, getting rich, completely recovering from a chronic illness etc before you find love.
- Having a checklist that is based on outward appearances instead of a list based on how you want the person to treat you and make you feel.
- Treating dating like an interview and not focusing on how the experience of dating the person was and they made you feel.

- Ali Abdaal’s youtube video on evidence based tips that helped him find life
One Person Business Model — Solve your own problems and share and sell the solution
Idea
People have similar problems that are influenced by their circumstances in life, someone may be where you were sometime back so why not share the lessons you have leart with them to make the journey easier for them. (I’ve benefited from other people sharing lessons they learnt from going through similar health challenges as me, it has made my health journey easier)
New Perspective
From what I understood to be successful at this requires you to :
- actually pay attention to helping and taking care of yourself because you are going to be your own ideal customer
- I think it also invites us to not ignore our struggles completely, and embrace reflection, so that when we decide to share what we’ve learned we can communicate in a way that resonates well with people who need that information. ( I think journaling may be helpful with this)

Digital Decluter — An idea on how to manage multiple open tabs
Idea
Go through all your opened tabs and record the titles of the tabs on a spreadsheet before you delete them.
This doubles as a great introspection exercise to track how your interests has changed or stayed the same over time.
